Friendship

Friendships come in varying degrees and are our connection to other people. There is the intimate friendship of a best bud, the casual friendship of a work colleague, the life-long friendship between siblings, the true friendship between two soul mates, or the friend on Facebook. Our friends help us get through the difficult times of a divorce, the discovery and depression of an unfaithful partner, the loss of a parent, or the sudden death of a colleague. When a major illness or disease strikes, our friends are there to help us with decisions on surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, or other disease treatment. Facing the end of life decisions about aging parents or other loved ones, we gather strength from those friends who comfort us. In addition, at other times, we become the listeners and comfort givers to our friends in their time of need.
